Job Purpose :
This position is responsible for developing new quotes, estimating production and material costs, and coordinating with internal departments to ensure estimates are accurate.
New Product Quoting
Core Responsibility
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain resources to develop accurate labor and material cost estimates on new projects
- Understand current capabilities of company and how they apply to new opportunities
- Stay informed on new technologies and practices being used by the production team to ensure accurate quoting
- Have working knowledge of TLC Distribution Lines
- Identify opportunities to cross customer specified parts with TLC franchise lines
Repeat Business Quoting (Requoting)
Core Responsibility
- Coordinate with Supply Chain Team to ensure accurate material costs
- Analyze historical efficiencies of products and implement labor or cost adjustments
- Provide quick requote turn time
Technical Review
Secondary Responsibility
- Support Technical review process, as needed.
- Review customer prints for manufacturability, fit and function; Follow up with customer on any discrepancy providing acceptable options.
Engineering Changes
Secondary Responsibility
- Support the engineering change process by providing cost estimates to proposed changes
- Update controlled documents such as process sheets, control plans, and BOMs
Continuous Improvement
Secondary Responsibility
- Provide insightful ideas for process improvement
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement project implementation
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
- Familiar with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and electromechanical product specifications.
- Knowledge of electronics manufacturing and wire / cable processing.
- Ability to visualize physical processes needs and corelate them to estimated time standards.
- Ability to crimp, plug, tin, and assemble wire and cable components.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Skill to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal groups, team members, and individuals.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must be able to work independently and productively; able to manage multiple projects.
- Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.
- High level of imitativeness and strong work ethic.
- Experience with an ERP system.
Qualifications : Minimum
Minimum
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
- Two (2) years of experience in manufacturing industry
Preferred :
- Associate degree in a related field
- Wire / cable assembly exposure
- Experience with MS Visio, AutoCAD, etc.; Microsoft PowerPoint and / or Access
