CAS Learning Coordinator

The part-time Learning Coordinator for the Center for Academic Success is responsible for designing and implementing services and programs to meet the needs of over 1, distance learning students.

This is a centralized position that services all campuses. The position requires evening and weekend hours and is fully remote to best meet students’ needs as they occur in real time.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Designing resources, interactive workshops and course guides to assist students with content and study skills
• Work effectively with learners who need different / additional learning options.
• Tutor students remotely
• Answering general inquiries for CAS services
• Interacting with students, faculty and staff for delivering of CAS services
• Assist in the daily operations of the CAS

Educational Requirements

Master’s degree

Training and / or Experience

• Three to five years of experience, preferably in tutoring services
• Must have prior distance learning experience
• Background instructional design preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Excellence in writing, editing, proofreading and formatting skills at the college level
• Strong organizational and project management capabilities, including the ability to manage a variety of complex projects and priorities, coordinate with others, and follow projects through to completion.
• Ability to communicate and work successfully with all stakeholders including faculty, departments and administrators of various backgrounds and mindsets.
• Effective verbal and written communication, facilitation, decision-making, prioritization, collaboration and planning skills.
• Knowledge of the broad landscape of information literacy, teaching, learning, research and scholarship in higher education, including professional and peer tutoring standards and guidelines such as the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) standards.

Systems Access

• Knowledge of instructional technology including, but not limited to Microsoft , Canvas LTI, publisher tools, and video conferencing.
• Experience working with : Microsoft Office suite software, particularly Word and ExcelAdvanced educational technologies and web toolsOnline collaboration tools, including working with shared documents and virtual meeting services such as Zoom
