General Statement of Job
Under close supervision, operates several types of specialized and heavy construction and maintenance equipment requiring a high degree of skill and attention.
Performs skilled and general labor as required when not operating equipment. Provides guidance and leadership to landscape technicians.
Trains new employees in the operation and care of equipment.
Minimum Training and Experience
Education :
High School diploma or GED
Experience :
One (1) to two (2) years of experience operating heavy equipment related to landscape maintenance or construction

- Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate dump trucks, tractors, dresser loader, rollers, motor grader, back hoe, track hoe, carpentry, masonry and asphalt tools, and numerous other small tools and equipment.
Must be able to exert in excess of one hundred pounds of force occasionally, and / or in excess of fifty pounds of force frequently, and / or in excess of twenty pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
