Job Description
The Medical Records Clerk / Assistant is responsible for receipt and preparation of all materials related to internal and external correspondence and requests for medical records information.
The Medical Records Clerk / Assistant abstracts and assembles patient discharge records in accordance with established policies and procedures and in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
Education : High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer graduate of an approved school of health information science.
Experience : Prefer one year in medical records department and secretarial background. Psychiatric setting preferred.
Knowledge : Prefer knowledge of medical, psychiatric and medical records terminology, procedures and functions, confidentiality and release of information laws, secretarial skills to include typing at 50 words per minute and various computer and word processing programs.
