Position : Senior Engineer, Product Engineering (Beaverton, Oregon)
Duties :
- Manage new product introduction and production support engineering for a specific product or group of products after transfer from design to in-house or outsourced production;
- Interface with design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems;
- Develop and sustain process improvements to reduce production costs and increase yields; Perform Yield Enhancement and Failure Analysis on a variety of analog and mixed signal integrated circuits;
- Define problems by identifying failure modes, quantity of material affected, and percent fallout; Perform data analysis, problem characterization, and fault isolation to determine the root cause of the problem;
Conduct product reliability qualification testing and analysis, package qualification testing and analysis, and temperature / voltage / process corner characterization and associated product datasheet limit calculations.
Requirements :
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physics or related field of study or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or related occupation enhancing production yield of analog products or, alternatively, a Ph.
D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physics or related field of study (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
Specific skills / other requirements
Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section) :
- Demonstrated Experience ( DE ) analyzing manufacturing statistics using Klarity ACE and Data Suite software to perform correlation analysis between fab process data and yield, and Pareto analysis to identify the top failing events;
- DE utilizing high-resolution scanning electron microscope and Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy to characterize and interpret the microstructure and chemical composition of semiconductor devices, performing focused ion beam cross-section cut on semiconductor devices to reveal the cross-sections, and performing materials de-processing using plasma etch, wet chemical etch and polishing techniques;
- DE reviewing integrated circuit manufacturing statistical process control (SPC) charts, identifying out-of-control events, tool mismatch, tool abnormality;
- and collaborating with process engineers to identify root cause, implement fix and improve product yield leveraging semiconductor processing, semiconductor physics, CMOS process flow and integrated circuit knowledge;
and DE in various electrical characterization of semiconductor Field-effect transistor (FET) devices using microelectronics probe station, and analyzing the FET circuit performance leveraging principles of semiconductor device physics, analog electronics, semiconductor properties and materials characterization.
