Nemours is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Manager (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

This position is responsible for coordinating Clinical Pharmacy Services within the Pharmacy Department and the Nemours Children’s Hospital (NCH).
The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Pharmacy and NCH colleagues to develop, implement, monitor and review Clinical Pharmacy Services throughout the hospital and its associated clinics at Medical City.
- Plans, organizes, manages, and communicates effectively department clinical activities. Develops goals and objectives, establishes and implements policies and procedures and protocols for Pharmacy Departmental operation.
- Participates in the departmental strategic planning. Develops, plans, organizes, and determines operations and services to obtain objectives within budget in accordance with overall health system needs.
Assists with budget preparation; reviews compliance at established intervals.
Consults, educates and works cooperatively with members of the medical staff and related staff concerning information on medications, therapeutic evaluations, and procedures;
develops and provides drug information material; meets and / or coordinates with medical and / or personnel to resolve problems related to Clinical Pharmacy Services.
- Maintains a clinical practice, performing both verbal and documented pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetic, and nutritional support consultations with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Provides clinical support for multidisciplinary committees, including the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, through the development of materials to support clinical evaluation of drugs, procedures, and processes including the coordination and reporting of adverse drug reaction reporting, pharmacist interventions and other quality initiatives, the medication use evaluation program, and the activities of the investigational drug service assuring compliance with protocols.
- Provides development and oversight over clinical technology including medication infusion pumps and electronic resources.
- Assists the Director of Pharmacy in maintaining the compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory standards. Assists in the development and maintenance of departmental performance measures, reports and statistics, reviews departmental performance, effects change as needed to improve services provided and assures compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinates, conducts, and manages the activities of the departmental training program for affiliated schools of pharmacy.
- Develops standards of performance, monitors and supervises decentralized clinical staff. Responsible for the coordination of staff development.
Evaluates performance, monitors and supervises decentralized clinical staff to ensure that clinical services are provided with sufficient scope and coverage to meet the requirements / needs of the patient population and community served.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of a Doctor of Pharmacy program from an accredited pharmacy school required.
- Minimum of five (5) years hospital pharmacy experience required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Florida Pharmacist licensure required within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Residency preferred.
- Board Certification preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with Pediatric unit dose drug distribution systems.
- Pediatric IV, Chemotherapy, and TPN experience.
- Experience with EPIC software preferred.
