JOB TITLE : Operations Specialist / Electronic Banking Specialist

REPORTS TO : Operations Team Leader and Chief Operations Officer (COO)

POSITION SUMMARY : Perform various operational duties for the bank and serve as a backup.

SCHEDULE : Monday-Friday (9 : 00a-5 : 00p) and one Saturday per month (8 : 00a-11 : 00a)

WORK LOCATION : Flexible; First State Bank Nebraska location.

  • Training in Firth and Beatrice for approximately 4-5 months.
  • After training, travel to Firth and Beatrice approximately 2 times per month.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Job Specific

  • Ensure all applicable deposit operations daily functions are performed in accordance with the appropriate standards, including, but not limited to, exception item processing, rejected item processing and insufficient item processing.
  • Respond to customer telephone or chat requests in a timely manner for assistance with; password reset / login trouble, online and bill payment enrollment, internal and external transfers, bill payment transactions, eStatement enrollment and retrieval, profile maintenance, mobile banking app, mobile deposits, opening an account online, business online access and ACH transactions.
  • Research customer internet banking problems to identify if error message is related to browsers, internet connection, or an issue with internet banking or mobile app.
  • Review and approve mobile deposits including restrictive endorsements and failed amount recognition.
  • Process ATM / debit card and ACH charge backs and error resolutions.
  • Process wire transfer requests.
  • Member research requests.
  • Respond to Fed adjustment requests.
  • ACH origination processing and Process ACH exception and return items for business online customers.
  • Process consumer and commercial accounts and assist with the oversight of the daily online account opening.
  • Review cleared checks for duplicate, large dollar, and endorsement errors.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable banking regulations and industry best practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Participate in appropriate training opportunities and in a timely manner.

  • Comply with all policies, procedures, and regulations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY : None

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Possess high school diploma or equivalent. Prefer clerical experience. Previous banking experience preferred.
  • LICENSE, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC. : Valid motor vehicle driver's license or provisional operator's permit. Current licenses to sell appropriate securities and financial products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA'S) :

  • Working knowledge of personal computer (Microsoft Office products).
  • Ability to use general office machines.
  • Must be attentive to detail and very accurate.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and other employees.
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills, problem solving abilities.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and written.
  • Must be flexible, able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritize workflow.
  • Organizational skills, courtesy, and diplomacy.
  • Sound judgment.
  • Ability to hear well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, and outside bank personnel.
  • Ability to read and write.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Normal daily physical activities to include, walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling.
  • Must be able to read reports and use computer.
  • Daily lifting up to 20 pounds (i.e. storage files, office supplies, and equipment)

WORK ENVIRONMENT : Indoors, environmentally controlled. This position may require travel by car to visit other company locations and make on-site customer visits.

Will require minimal work on evenings and weekends to meet with customers.
