Fire / Life Safety Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will participate in the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art fire alarm equipment, including fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals.

You will also perform service, repairs, and inspections associated with fire sprinkler systems and other water-based equipment in accordance with all national and local standards.

As a?Fire / Life Safety Technician, you will :

  • Assist with the commissioning of new fire alarm systems on construction ensuring seamless integration
  • Assist with testing and inspecting of existing fire alarm systems
  • Assist with or perform installation, repair, and maintenance of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow preventers, fire hydrants, underground and fire pumps.
  • Assist with or perform fire sprinkler, fire pump and other water-based equipment inspections and testing.
  • Properly document deficiencies / impairments noted during inspections or service work and follow required process of reporting deficiencies while on-site.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all work performed.
  • Generate reports within Siemens digital tools.
  • Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site to include customer signature.
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and assist with training.
  • Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader
  • Complete commissioning within planned timelines
  • Submit accurate time and expense logs
  • Work overtime when needed
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
  • Work well with others, take ownership, be a team player, and act with integrity.

You will make an impact with these qualifications :

Basic Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED.
  • Electro-mechanical experience (wither from a previous role or through education) and user PC / software skill; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be willing and able to differentiate types / colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet;

carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds?unassisted

  • Must be able to demonstrate :
  • The ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company.
  • Customer-facing and customer service skills.
  • Ability and willingness to follow and maintain highly structured schedules.
  • Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 18 months
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
  • 6+ months experience installing commercial fire alarm equipment
  • Ability to read / understand design and construction documents

The pay range for this position is $40,880 - $70,080. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
