Position Summary
As the CFO for the Retail division, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, providing strategic insight, and facilitating decision-making processes.
You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organization to ensure financial objectives are aligned with business goals, while also offering proactive analysis and recommendations to optimize profitability and mitigate risk.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Partner with senior leadership and business leaders to understand their objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
Serve as a trusted advisor by providing financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to drive business growth and profitability.
Business Stewardship Maintains and fosters a growth mindset while also being an astute financial steward for the organization.
Demonstrates a focus delivering results and driving profitable revenue growth with a partnership focused approach.
Financial Planning and Analysis - Understands, analyzes, and evaluates relevant financial information and data. Draws logical conclusions and makes recommendations based on objective evidence.
Strong understanding of company performance including how to budget, plan, forecast and report performance and analyze variance.
Spearheads teams to run financial plans, budgets, and forecasts while providing review and challenge, driving insight, and defining corrective actions when required so that the business leadership can meet their financial objectives.
- Hands-On / Roll Up Sleeves Mentality This is a senior level role but still requires a hands-on mentality. Candidate must be comfortable in the tactics as well as in the strategy
- Risk Management Assesses financial risk and exposures within the division. Develop strategies to safeguard financial assets.
Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes impacting the insurance industry.
Leadership Leads by example whilecommunicating a convincing and compelling vision that motivates others to action taking.
Provides financial expertise and insights to facilitate data-driven decisions making.
- Cost Management Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost optimization efficiency improvements. Implement cost control measures and monitor spending to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Continuous Improvement Drive process improvements and initiatives within the finance group. Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance reporting, analysis, and decision support capabilities.
Work Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Professional certification (CFA, CPA) preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in a relevant role in the insurance industry, with a strong understanding of traditional FP&A to include budgeting, forecasting, and reporting and understanding performance
- Strong Business Partnering skills, is able to effectively communicate accounting principles to business leaders while executing on goals and initiatives with a focus on risk management and profitability
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence decision-making at all levels.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on delivering actionable insights and driving business results
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with partners and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of NetSuite and Epic is a plus.

Physical Demands
Office work . Office work involves working at a desk most of the time, using a stand-up / sit-down adjustable desk. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Typing, grasping, and repetitive motion typically is required every day, and walking and standing are required occasionally.
