Clinical Manager Opportunity - Addiction and Recovery
North Star Behavioral Health System provides acute inpatient programs for adults in an acute state of crisis who may be at risk of harming themselves or others.
These programs include 24-hour nursing and evidence-based treatment methods designed to help patients stabilize and transition into a less intensive setting as soon as possible.
Our staff utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches and individualized care to address each patient’s specific needs.
Extra support for de-escalation is available as needed.
Arctic Recovery Program Psychiatric treatment, detoxification and / or rehabilitation for substance abuse for individuals 18 and older.
The Clinical Manager is a key member of the Northstar Behavioral Health Team who, under the direction of the Chief of Social Services, the Clinical Manager is responsible for the clinical leadership and coordination of all clinical therapy staff.
This position ensures the delivery of quality psychotherapeutic services by managing and supervising the staff providing direct care.
Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and supports the facility’s treatment program and philosophy.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as the department’s fiscal manger; understands FTE management and overtime management, provides budget input to director, maintains familiarity with financial information, understand the department’s expenses and revenues, etc.
- Carries out the personnel management activities associated with direct staff supervision, including screening and selection, orientation training and development, performance management, and employee relations functions.
- Facilitates training for staff related to group facilitation and documentation of groups as needed or requested by Directors / Managers.
- Assists with program development and facilitates training to clinicians and MHS staff regarding treatment modalities, policies, programming, precaution plans / statuses, etc.
- Attends and helps facilitate administrative and department meetings, unit staff meetings, clinical meetings, etc.
- Reviews and cosigns clinical documentation and provides feedback as needed for corrections that need to be addressed.
- Demonstrates a positive working relationship with all departments, unit staff, and treatment team members and facilitates immediate problem solving by providing pertinent information to various departments through use of verbal and electronic communication.
- Provides input regarding the structure of the milieu and assists with the development of individualized special programs.
Services as a role model, supports and provides feedback to clinicians, discharge planners, MHS staff and nursing.
- Follows all clinical therapy requirements for case load assigned.
- Provides backup for Clinical Therapist as needed.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
Licensed by the State of Alaska (LCSW, LPA, LPC, LMFT).
Minimum of three (3) years work experience in a mental health or psychiatric setting required.
