The DPS Bulletins are an important piece to the Communications team. DPS Bulletins is a critical channel used to communicate important announcements, upcoming events, release information, etc.
DPS Bulletins are currently the only way our business formally communicates with all of our clients. The Technical Writer, DPS Bulletins will be responsible for managing bulletin requests from different teams across DPS and will provide formatting, wordsmithing, and grammatical edits to the requested bulletin articles to ensure consistency across all the different teams’ communications.
This position will co-own many backend automations and will be accountable for confirming they are operating as expected.
In addition to managing DPS bulletins, the Technical Writer will also play a role with the Business News team in assisting with copywriting, editing and producing communications during busy periods.
As the Technical Writer for DPS Bulletins, this position will be expected to :
- Manage bulletin requests from teams across DPS and be responsible for the overall delivery in a timely manner
- Provide guidance to stakeholders to help develop a content plan (timing / platform for delivery), managing schedules and calendars and being responsible for their content from start to finish.
- Oversee a Kan Ban board which contains all bulletin requests.
- Possess project management skills allowing you to track the many moving parts of each piece of content you are responsible for.
- Establish / maintain the voice of DPS communications.
- Maintain the Bulletin archive.
- Be a self-starter and be responsible for the delivery channel
- Work in a fast-paced environment where you would be responsible for your own work from start to finish.
- Provide timely and accurate edits to requested bulletins and set expectations for when bulletins can be published to clients.
- Initiate timely collaboration for edits on bulletin requests and record approval confirmation for each request.
- Organize bulletins articles to send to the Broadcast team and confirm that the bulletins are going out when expected.
- Communicate proactively and effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the org
Basic Qualifications :
or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree ( Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD).
Preferred Qualifications :
- A background or degree in English.
- Strong grammatical and wordsmithing skills.
- An incessant need to critique and fix wording and punctuation in print.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word products, especially Word, MS Teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage up and work cross-functionally.
- Experience working in a global or multiregional capacity, with strong cross-cultural sensitivities
- Experience adhering to documented standards / style guides for copy
