Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to both Newman Sanitary Gasket Company and Newman Diaphragms Inc., playing a key part in the design, development, and improvement of our full range of sealing and diaphragm products. You will be a critical contributor to our product innovation and ensure our solutions continue to meet the rigorous standards of the industries we serve.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design and develop new products and components using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD).
• Optimize existing product designs for performance, manufacturability, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate product performance (e.g., flex life), material compatibility, and compliance with industry standards (FDA, USP Class VI, 3-A).
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot production issues, improve processes, and develop necessary tooling and fixtures.
• Research, select, and qualify appropriate elastomers, plastics, and other materials for demanding sanitary applications.
• Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and other technical documentation.
• Analyze test data and prepare clear, concise technical reports.
• Provide technical support to sales, customer service, and clients as a subject matter expert.
• Represent the company by attending and participating in industry standards committee meetings (e.g., ASME BPE, 3-A, EHEDG).
• Manage engineering projects from initial concept through to production release.
