As a Product Test Technician you’ll be part of the team that has an inside view of our 63 state of the art labs. Reporting to the Manager, Test Technicians you’ll conduct simple to complex product performance tests on small and large appliances, home items and food that help to inform our product ratings.

T his position requires you to work onsite at our facility in Yonkers, New York. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

How You'll Make an Impact :
Our test results and recommendations help consumers make critical and informed buying decisions. Sometimes they even encourage individual companies to improve their competitive advantage by meeting CR’s test standards in their own QA departments.
Following documented test processes and procedures and under the supervision of Senior Test Technicians you will prepare and conduct tests, assuring that the test data meets established standards for accuracy, repeatability, and dependability.
Your responsibilities can include reviewing the data and approaches used by your colleagues and as needed, preparing, maintaining and calibrating our testing devices and equipment.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll Be Highly Rated If :
- You have lab and testing experience. We’re looking for someone with 2 years experience conducting product testing in a laboratory or test environment.
- You have a strong technical aptitude and can analyze, interpret and communicate test results.
- You are deadline driven. You have worked towards and consistently met rigid time timelines when completing projects.
- You are computer proficient in Excel and G-Suite programs.
You'll Be One Of Our Top Picks If :
- You have a degree. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- You are a maker, tinkerer and / or hobbyist.
- You have a knowledge of programming in platforms like LabView and Python.
- Physical Demands : Normal demands associated with working in a test laboratory environment, including prolonged computer usage;
- able to do light physical work associated with testing (including the ability to assemble, disassemble and physically move test products as necessary);
must exhibit normal sensory acuity (taste, smell, hearing, vision, and tactile).

FAIR PAY & A JUST WORKPLACE

The target salary range for this position is $67.3k to $69.7k. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range.
Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
