The HR Generalist reports to the HR Director and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.
This role includes handling various HR functions such as ADP Workforce Now semi-monthly payroll processing, recruiting, and administering employee benefits.
The HR Generalist ensures compliance with HR policies, regulations, and supports a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities :
- Payroll Processing :
- Manage semi-monthly payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Recruiting :
- Manage the full recruitment cycle from job posting to onboarding.
- Develop and post job descriptions on various platforms.
- Screen and interview candidates.
- Coordinate with hiring managers to determine hiring needs and schedule interviews.
- Conduct reference checks and prepare job offers.
- Employee Benefits Administration :
- Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and issues.
- Ensure compliance with benefits regulations and manage annual enrollment processes.
- Collaborate with benefits providers and manage relationships.
- HR Compliance :
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct audits of HR activities to ensure compliance.
- Employee Relations :
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and promote a positive work environment.
- Support performance management processes and assist with employee evaluations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a Specialist or Generalist role.
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Preferred Skills :
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent).
Working Conditions :
- This position typically works in an office environment.
- May require occasional travel to local sites
