Information Technology System Manager
General Summary :
Maintain the overall information technology infrastructure of the business and provide Level 3 (subject / product expert) support.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage server infrastructure and related tools
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues / outages, and maintain systems according to requirements
- Upkeep of server infrastructure and upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Ensure security through file access controls and backups
- Develop expertise to train staff on new server and desktop technologies
- This role may also include working on projects from other departments needing the assistance of various IT resources
Job Qualifications :
- A degree in computer science, equivalent certification (technical, A+, Network+, MCSE, etc.), or in pursuit of the aforementioned.
- 3 years of experience performing operating system maintenance and application software installations on MS Windows workstations
- 3 years of experience in maintaining basic network hardware, such as hubs / switches, cabling, WiFi, and configuring networks of end-user devices
- Advanced experience with business productivity software MS Office
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills for assisting employees with IT support.
- Physically able to run data cables and telecommunication lines throughout office infrastructure, as well as move electronic equipment.
Assistance is available for heavier equipment.
- Programming skills in C++, Visual and shell-scripting in both Windows and UNIX environments
- Knowledge of working in *NIX environment at the administration level
- Database design and administration and knowledge of relational databases and ODBC
