Business Finance Leader
We are collaborating with an organization the Research Triangle Park in search of a dynamic Business Finance Leader for their growing team.
The ideal candidate will bring both operational experience and a strong finance background. This role demands strategic expertise in costing, absorption, and contribution margins to drive the company's financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Direct financial planning, including budgeting and forecasting, to align with strategic goals.
- Work with the finance team to produce monthly reports and financial dashboards, offering analysis and narrative for business unit results and collecting metrics.
- Oversee costing methodologies, ensuring accurate product costing and absorption calculations to support pricing strategies and profitability analysis.
- Formulate financial strategies that support the company’s manufacturing goals, and provide insights into margin performance, cost management, and profitability.
- Collaborate with regional and plant controllers to ensure accurate and comprehensive financial data analysis.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Manage financial operations across manufacturing sites, tracking key metrics such as cost of goods sold and working capital.
- Conduct financial modeling and analysis to assess business performance and deliver regular reports with KPIs and financial metrics to senior management.
- Recommend strategies to enhance financial performance and efficiency, including evaluating savings from plant consolidations and acquisitions.
- Assist in strategic planning by providing financial inputs and developing business cases for Board of Director meetings.
- Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate different strategic options.
- Maintain accurate financial forecasts and develop risk mitigation strategies to improve financial stability.
- Serve as a financial advisor to business unit leaders, offering strategic recommendations and mentoring team members to foster collaboration and high-quality financial analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in finance, focusing on manufacturing or heavy operations finance.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerBI, and other analytical tools.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics NAV, Hyperion) and data extraction for planning and reporting.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to communicate results clearly.
- Strong modeling skills, focusing on reporting and strategic development.
- Effective in leading cross-functional teams and managing optimization projects.
- Excellent communication and conflict management skills, with the ability to collaborate and drive high standards.
- Proficient in tailoring communication for diverse audiences and situational leadership.
