The Iowa Cubs Media Relations Intern will report directly to the Media Relations Manager, while also working closely with the rest of the Marketing Department.
Daily duties include writing game notes and press releases, assisting with community events, organizing and analyzing baseball statistics, press box set-up, assisting media with interview requests, updating website information, and monitoring social media.
Interns will work up to 40 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist with communications / marketing / media service and publications duties
- Responsible for daily game day sheet and entering lineups
- Assist in the production of the Iowa Cubs 2025 Media Guide
- Write, research and edit daily game notes
- Prepare media credentials
- Write and pitch feature stories for the IowaCubs.com and the digital program
- Contribute to the Iowa Cubs social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
- Operate the Pace of Game Clock and DakStats during select home games (training provided)
- Assist the Digital Media Manager with photo organization throughout the season
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience and Education :
- Working towards or have a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or relevant field
- Must have knowledge of the game of baseball, including statistical understanding
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft computer applications preferred
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities
- Ability to stay organized and manage duties in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends
- Employees are expected to be at all Iowa Cubs games
- This position is 100% onsite. Must be available to start before the first home game on March 28
