Alpha Media - Louisville, KY is seeking an experienced Marketing Director for our local stations, WDJX-FM, WGHL-FM, WXMA-FM, WMJM-FM & WGZB-FM .
The ideal candidate will be experienced in event planning and promotions, have a strong marketing and digital background, and a passion for creativity.
Experience in developing and activating promotional executions within the radio format is a definite plus!
Responsibilities of this position include the following :
- Creates strategy for and implements Louisville on-air and on-site promotions for WDJX-FM, WGHL-FM, WXMA-FM, WMJM-FM & WGZB-FM with the guidance of station management.
- Conceives, implements, and manages station marketing plans / strategies utilizing platforms such as Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads, etc.
- Completes tasks for on-site promotional events related to both programming and sales.
- Implements on-air and on-site concepts and strategies for both sales and programming.
- Attends and supervises on-site activations.
- Works with sales and programming to create programming integrations / solutions for sales partners. This may include developing on-air / off-air promos, online / texting activations, and / or on-site activations.
- Serves as an online and social media "lead" with our websites.
- Works with Content Director and Sales to continue and improve existing revenue-generating events and create new ones.
- Supervises part-time street team employees including recruitment, hiring, performance and compensation evaluation, and scheduling.
- Develops strategic relationships with entertainment and event venues to benefit the stations.
- Establishes security and safety protocols and practices for events.
- Works closely with Sales and Programming to ensure successful events and enjoyable client / listener experiences.
- Manages inventory and oversight of promotional assets, including station vehicles, tents, banners, etc.
- Creates press releases / manages distribution in a timely manner for our brands / talent / charity involvement with the approval of programming / general management.
- Works with local charities to the mutual benefit of the community, the charity, and the station(s).
Requirements for this position include the following :
- Ability to create, communicate, and implement strategies and vision.
- Proven track record of running successful and profitable events and promotions.
- Ability to grow the business and find new revenue opportunities, as well as create productive, long-term promotional and event relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
- Driving Station SUV and / or Van is required.
Preference may be given to candidates who have the above experience plus the following :
- Previous experience in broadcast media or marketing.
- A Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
This position directly reports to the Market Manager. There will be times when you are working directly with, and completing tasks for the Market Manager, Programming, and Sales.
The expectation is for you to execute the above responsibilities under the guidance of your Market Manager when it comes to market-wide / multi-station events / needs.
As a ratings and revenue agent, you will be evaluated as to how much you contribute to achieving our goals. You will also be evaluated on the following, but not limited to - level of execution, quality of work, creativity, consistent improvement, customer and peer feedback, online growth, sales revenue generated, responsiveness to feedback, ability to take ownership, percentage of tasks completed on time, being on time and on budget.
