Ensuring Chart’s Success
Under general direction, responsible for complex planning activities related to equipment layouts in plant, office, and production facilities.
Conducts studies that determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and recommends methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
Prepares cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluates cost factors. Provides work leadership and training to lower-level professional employees.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be
Develops and evaluates manufacturing methods to eliminate waste, improve safety, enhance performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Provides support in resolving technical problems.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements & workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Responsible for planning and design of fixturing and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Project manager for capital projects. Coordinate with contractors and internal workforce to oversee the project through completion.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arranges for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Responsible for generating capital justifications, including ROI percent calculations and Rate of Return.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Assist HSE manager when needed to evaluate environmental issues and determines optimum solutions for related concerns and hazardous waste disposal.
- Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Develops, tracks and implements annual capital budget requirements.
Your Education Should Be
- 4 year BS Degree in a related field
- Engineering Degree is preferred
- In lieu of degree, candidates must have at least 10 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require
Indoor / Office Environment and Shop Exposure
Your Professional Experience Should Be
- Minimum 5-years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Possess excellent written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PowerPoint and Visio
- Understanding of ASME, HTRI, API 661
