About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Operating Room (OR) Job Duration : 14 weeks Shift : Day Shift, 3x12 Hr Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of one year of nursing experience License : Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification Must-Have : Nursing Diploma or ADN / ASN from an accredited school of Nursing Job Description : Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs through attended education programs.
- Use patient education materials relevant to the patient population.- Assess readiness to learn and the developmental level of patients, families, and caregivers.
- Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance as needed in revising the care plan.- Engage with the interdisciplinary team for patient care evaluation and communicate relevant information for continuity of care.
- Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as per patient care plan requirements.- Utilize healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures to administer care.
- Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs and consult appropriate resources for complex care issues.
- Develop professional goals and participate in intra / interdepartmental collaboration and unit goals.- Participate in promoting cost-effective care and provide feedback to co-workers.
- Ensure awareness of public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare.- Promote a safe and secure hospital environment.
- Recognize priorities for care in complex situations, including necessary physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
- Collaborate with patients and families to develop or update the care plan, using available multidisciplinary resources.
- Address cultural and ethnic considerations in planning patient care.- Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems.
- Engage in research by reading pertinent journals and discussing applicability with the broader staff.
