Description

POSITION SUMMARY :

Person in this position will be responsible for the planning and coordination of the clinical activities pertaining to mental health services for clients and their families.

Interview clients when referred by clinical staff for therapy, conduct assessment and individual, conjoint, couple, and multiple family group counseling as indicated.

Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Plan and coordinate the clinical activities pertaining to mental health services to clients and their families.
  • Supervise the screening and assignment of cases referred for mental health services.
  • Assist staff at arriving at solutions to client problems as they relate to mental health issues.
  • Participate in staff meetings and conferences pertaining to client treatment plans and progress in treatment.
  • Participate in discharge planning with clinical staff at the conclusion of therapy.
  • Attend and participate in the diagnostic and technical meetings for cooperative planning and treatment by clinical staff.
  • Participate in staff training as it relates to therapy.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the quality improvement process as it relates to therapy.
  • Participation in Quality Improvement activities in an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for maintaining the client charts in compliance with agency, state and any other rules and standards.
  • Must Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Fresno County Credentialing.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a successful criminal background check.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance is required.
  • As mandated by the State of California those employees who work at Residential, Outpatient, Sober Living, provide Mental Health Services, Administrative Staff or Transitional Living Facilities must be fully vaccinated and have received a booster.

Employees that have requested a Medical or Religious Exemption, which has been approved by Human Resources will be required to test for the virus weekly.

During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and / or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with.

Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.

CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited college with master's degree in a discipline leading to licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an AMFT, ASCW or APCC and in good standing.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION :

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) is preferred.

Registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an AMFT, ASCW or APCC and in good standing is required. Preference will be given to those candidates who are currently licensed.

WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Work is primarily performed in an office or in a Residential / Outpatient treatment setting.
  • Some outdoor activities may be required.
  • Must be able to de-escalate situations in the program.
