Job Description
Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide.
As the Director of Advanced Selling skills Training reporting to the Senior Director, Therapeutic Area Product and Advanced Selling Skills training, will lead all sales excellence aspects related to, advanced selling skills, progressive competitive fitness, mindset and advanced communications training.
This role will place an emphasis on ACS and competitive selling content in the US, design and deliver global training content and conduct training for all affiliate CL&D employees.
The candidate will be accountable for managing and leading initiatives around Advanced selling skills and competencies and work in very close collaboration with the Operations Team and Advanced Sales Excellence Training Team, conducting global training needs assessments, design, development, delivery, and evaluation of programs and impact.
The successful leader will be a dynamic, experienced individual with a strong track record of team leadership experience across various settings and topics in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
They should have the proven ability to lead a team and manage complex projects effectively, be able to influence stakeholders without authority, effectively network across the organization, and communicate with senior leaders, all within a fast-moving, challenging, and dynamic Commercial environment.
Essential Duties and Job Functions :
- Extensive experience in curriculum development, project management, executive presence, facilitation expertise and a deep understanding of adult learning principles.
- Advanced skills in Selling skills and Communication and Impact capabilities.
- Work very closely with US (key contributor) and Global Affiliate Commercial Learning & Development to :
- Develop / enhance / optimize advanced selling skills that are fit-for-future.
- Develop an inventory of current regional / local, selling skills programs leading to progressive competitive fitness development leading to commercial impact.
- Align and incorporate selling models and competencies to Advanced Selling Skills programs along with collaboration to leadership development targets
- Review the inventory of existing training to determine viability for reuse or adaptation at a global level, with a focus on optimizing / building what drives the most impact at scale.
- Collaborate with US CL+D Teams and global stakeholders to define desired performance outcomes and the required behaviors, skills, and knowledge needed by different roles to deliver them.
- Determine content changes required for existing training curricula or work with external vendors to design and build new US or global content.
- Incorporate motivating, creative, and interactive training techniques to enhance the training experience and maximize learning and retention.
- Assure competencies and corresponding training to achieve competitiveness and operational excellence.
- Build a Advanced Selling skills Training plan and fine efficiencies within programs and current resources
- Build relationships in US and Global and engage with senior executives and functional stakeholders.
- Ensure that strategic plans, goals, and objectives are documented, communicated, reviewed, and evaluated continuously.
- Ensure stakeholders are engaged throughout training development, continuously incorporating feedback to ensure relevance and inclusion.
- Proactively engage with commercial groups to resolve issues, conflicts, and interdependencies

Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years’ Experience
Masters' Degree and Ten Years’ Experience
PhD and Eight Years’ Experience

The salary range for this position is : $205,700.00 - $266,200.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
