After School Counselor

Position Summary :

Florida Atlantic University is seeking After School Counselors - Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities :

• Serves the needs of all children in an inclusive setting.
• Develops and implements daily program activities.
• Provides support and assistance to students during homework time.
• Plans and leads various students’ indoor / outdoor program curriculums, games, activities, celebrations, clubs, meetings, arts and crafts, etc.
• Assists with planning and implementation of the monthly activity calendar.
• Models and implements age-appropriate behavioral techniques and appropriate consequences.
• Maintains accurate daily attendance records.
• Identifies student misconduct; completes discipline forms, accident / injuries reports, and reviews allergy lists in a timely manner.
• Ensures safety, administers basic first aid and medication, as needed.
• Implements emergency codes and evacuation procedures.
• Attends and participates in monthly staff meetings, recommended trainings or classes.
• Assists in keeping the program office, cafeteria, classrooms, computer lab, playground and other areas neat and clean.
• Follows adopted program policies and procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality and professionalism.
• Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with coworkers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

FAU degree-seeking undergraduate student with a minimum of six credit hours (or twelve if international) and a 2.0 GPA required.

Salary : $15.00 per hour.
