Position : 2025 / 2026 Math Interventionist- Fridays Only

Orton Academy is a tuition-free public charter school for 2nd-8th grade located in central Colorado Springs, within the D11 boundary.

Position Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Math Interventionist  to provide math intervention for grades 2-8. This role involves delivering targeted instruction to students to improve their math skills, promoting student growth and engagement in math, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide math instructions, with a focus on improving math  fluency and skills.
• Assess and monitor students' math progress, adapting instruction to meet their individual needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to align intervention strategies with classroom instruction.
• Implement lesson plans aligned with the math intervention goals.
• Maintain accurate student records and provide feedback to students and parents as needed.
• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
• Maintain classroom management, ensuring a safe and productive learning atmosphere.

Physical Demands : The work is mostly walking and standing with periods of sitting. Typical positions require workers to lift and carry up to 30 pounds; climb stairs; bend and crouch; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards; demonstrate an athletic activity or physical exercise; and feel the shape, size, and temperature of objects; and physically restrain students. The work requires the ability to speak normally, to use normal or aided vision and hearing, and to detect odors.

Supervision & Technical Responsibilities : This position does not supervise other employees.

Budget Responsibility : This position does not have any direct budget responsibility.

Education & Training : High School Degree or Equivalent

Experience : Experience working with students preferred
