With a current focus on mental health, gun violence prevention , the opioid epidemic, skill-based hiring and other critical issues, the Ad Council's national campaigns encompass advertising and media content, ground game and community efforts, trusted messenger and influencer engagement, and employer programs, among other innovative strategies to move the needle on the most important issues of the day.
Job summary :
The Ad Council's Media Team is looking for a Senior Manager, Media Engagement who will oversee and lead a diverse portfolio of accounts, securing targeted media exposure for the Ad Council's social impact campaigns, including, but not limited to the ideation, execution, and evaluation of strategic partnerships.
You will sit within the Media Strategy and Engagement Center of Excellence (COE). We are seeking candidates who are passionate about building new relationships with media companies, cultivating existing ones and exploring innovative ways to work with all partners to deliver maximum impact that will benefit the Ad Council's social issue campaigns.
You may also be responsible for managing or mentoring junior team members.
The compensation for this position is within the range of $82,000 - $95,000 annually (based on experience level). The compensation package also includes an annual incentive, comprehensive benefit offerings, and generous paid time off.
What you'll do :
- Develop, nurture, and grow strong relationships with a portfolio of accounts, including those with senior level contacts
- Manage day-to-day responsibilities on an assigned list of media accounts, such as ongoing securing, tracking, optimization, and evaluation of donated media support
- Prospect new business and opportunities with a focus on growth areas such as streaming audio, OTT, new video platforms, gaming companies, retail media networks, and diverse-owned outlets
- Oversee the development, implementation, and impact of strategic, 360-degree media partnerships with the Ad Council's most impactful partners, with support and coaching from COE team lead(s)
- Drive opportunities with assigned accounts to help support the Ad Council's programmatic advertising strategy
- Create engagement strategy for assigned media partner accounts, provide strategic guidance on quarterly campaign planning, and manage outreach and implementation
- Support the training and development of team members as needed, such as summer interns and new hires within the Media department
- Attend industry events (e.g. conferences, trainings, etc.), represent the Ad Council as needed, and share key learnings with the broader Media Center of Excellence
- Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with internal and external teams to concept, execute and manage partnerships that maximize social good impact and drive campaign core KPIs
- Keep a pulse on the cutting edge of media and advertising technologies and proactively identify opportunities for Ad Council campaigns to test, engage, and scale across the media landscape to foster innovation
- Serve on internal cross-functional teams or special projects to represent the media team and add value to the organization
- Complete administrative tasks such as updating Salesforce, tracking donated media support in internal measurement platform and filling out timesheets on a consistent basis.
What you bring :
- 4+ years professional sales, marketing, or agency experience, with experience executing strategic partnerships
- A passion for, and a comprehensive knowledge of media and advertising industries
- Stellar communication and presentation skills, with the ability to self-edit and present to senior stakeholders internally and externally
- Ability to build, strengthen and maintain mutually beneficial long-term relationships
- Initiative and confidence to self-start on complex assignments with minimal oversight
- Excellent project management skills : organized and detail-oriented with a capacity to thrive in a fast-paced team oriented, deadline-driven environment;
ability to expertly manage multiple projects simultaneously and manage-up to superiors
- Keen strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work collaboratively and effectively cross-functionally; willingness to manage conflict and difficult situations; eagerness to mentor
- A positive, empathetic mindset and a fearless openness to finding opportunities where others may not.
- Curiosity and a commitment to flexibility, attentiveness and adaptivity in response to the ever-changing media landscape
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software (Salesforce, Smartsheet)
