Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Senior Electrical Inspector, we'll count on you to :
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Conduct and document observations of construction progress and identify discrepancies or conflicts between the documents and the installation.
- Understand sequence of construction for electrical work.
- Evaluate construction schedule to maintain progress.
- Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers
- Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities
- Provide guidance to less-experienced field staff as required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years experience
- Proficient with MS Office (Word / Excel / Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school or Associate degree
- Relevant Industry Certifications
- Ability to interpret construction schedules
- Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Familiar with electric utility requirements for medium voltage at the customer level
- Familiar with medium voltage equipment technical and safety issues
- Understand requirements for equipment, witness and approval testing
- Be proactive with contractor / utility coordination efforts
- Lead construction meetings when necessary
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 10+ years experience in electrical construction
- 10+ years experience with medium voltage equipment or controls and communications.
- Journeyman or Masters level experience
- Show proven record of :
- medium voltage system installations
- PLC and controls cabinet installation
- general knowledge of instrumentation signal installation and loop checks
- knowledge of motor types, installations, and testing methods
- underground electrical utilities
- work in industrial and commercial environments
- Strong preference given to local candidates
