Overview

The Product Engineer position presents a unique opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing team within an industry-leading innovative company.

As a Product Engineer, this role envisions product design and engineering of new products, driving front-end innovation and enhancing Operational Excellence.

Responsibilities :

• Delivers engineering support for all aspects of the product development lifecycle from ideation to detailed design, specification, analysis, and verification.
• Product design and engineering, material selection, product performance testing / modeling, manufacturing process assessment, prototyping, testing and plant hand off.
• Provide technical assistance, develop engineering proposals / project charters and installation guidelines; craft engineering documentation, specifications, drawings and test reports.
• Support projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• Advanced degrees (Master's) are highly desirable.1-3 years relevant work experience in Product Development / Engineering.

Ability to evaluate and refine existing product designs and materials from a product engineering perspective (technical design, material selection, product performance, testing, prototyping).

Familiarity with product design and engineering with plastic composites, aluminum, metals, plastics, coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers including their failure modes / design limits.

Competent in engineering a product from scratch using sound engineering principles and best practices, taking appropriate material selections and construction designs into consideration.

Skilled in crafting engineering documentation (specifications, drawings, test reports.Working knowledge of computer drafting tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Microsoft Office applications).

A technical understanding of relevant manufacturing processes, ie. injection molding, die casting and plastic extrusion.Knowledge of Lean Sigma tools a plus.

Solid understanding of GD&T.Expert at reading and creating 2D drawings from 3D CAD models.DFMEA / PFMEA, Lean / Six Sigma Fundamentals
