As a Senior Broker, you will report directly to the Pacific Southwest Middle Market Practice Leader. This is a hybrid role working from our Irvine, CA office.

Your Impact as a Middle Market Broker

The broker is responsible for the management of a complex portfolio of Middle Market Property and Casualty accounts, including the placement and service, as well as ensuring client deliverables are maintained.

The individual is accountable for acting as the representative for the local office or region on new business and renewal opportunities.

The individual leads by example as a strong sponsor of Aon's Leadership Model : supporting local colleagues, promoting and ensuring connectivity, collaboration and cooperation within local office practices, and fostering the sharing of knowledge, best practices and resources around our Property and Casualty accounts.

Job Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with Account Executives and Producers in assigned region to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business in the Middle Market segment.
• In conjunction with other team members, prepare, review, and approve client-ready documentation, including proposals, loss analysis, comparisons, mid-term changes for new business opportunities and renewals.
• Participate in client and prospect meetings.
• Advise and execute on the placement of new and renewal P&C programs by crafting complete market submissions.
• Negotiate with underwriters to establish best terms and conditions with respect to premiums and coverage.
• Analyze and review insurance programs for clients to determine optimum program including pricing, terms and conditions for new and renewal business.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with carriers that write both Middle Market and upper Middle Market P& C business.
• Provides leadership, mentoring and direction to assist with growth and development of Associate Brokers or other members of the broking support teams.
• Present current market trends and issues to interested parties internally and externally.
• Drive utilization of all available technology throughout broking process and client service process
• Providing leadership, mentorship, and direction to assist with the growth and development of Associate Brokers or other members of the Middle Market group.
• Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior in all activities.

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

Required Experience :

• Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry specifically in Commercial P&C Insurance (Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability, Umbrella / Excess, and Property)
• Proven collaboration skills enabling the candidate to successfully lead broking teams and leverage thought leaders in pursuit of greater client, carrier, and Aon outcomes.
• Strong oral presentation skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex messages in written form
• Involvement in the transaction of insurance for commercial market companies
• A network of carrier relationships, carrier references required.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Strong work ethic

Education :

Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $110,000 to $180,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.

The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
