The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

The FP&A Manager for Corporate Staff Services (CSS) is a strategic finance leader and a key partner to the CSS CFO, responsible for integrating financial foresight and operational insight across 9 different corporate functions.

Beyond core FP&A activities such as budgeting, variance analysis, and financial modeling, this role is crucial in driving strategic initiatives like zero-based budgeting and managing spin-related dis-synergies.

The FP&A Manager will also champion the development of new technology-based capabilities, such as CXO, and oversee the HR budget, ensuring that financial practices are standardized, efficient, and effective.

Here, you will make an impact by :

  • Lead the consolidation and analysis of financial data across nine functions within the Corporate Staff Services division, ensuring accuracy and coherence in reporting.
  • Develop and implement standard work processes for financial activities across departments to promote consistency, efficiency, and control.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial insights and recommendations to support the CFO of Corporate Staff Services in decision-making.
  • Respond to financial analysis requests from the Company C-suite leadership, delivering high-quality information to facilitate executive-level decisions.
  • Drive the creation and maintenance of financial models and tools that support the evaluation of strategic initiatives, cost-saving opportunities, and investment decisions.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key trends, variances, and potential areas of concern.
  • Collaborate with finance and non-finance stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of financial performance and to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage the HR budget, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational efficiency.
  • Champion process improvement initiatives within the finance function, leveraging technology to automate and streamline workflows

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting and / or Economics (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Seven (7) years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a strong background in managing complex, multi-departmental financial processes in a private, public, government or military environment

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
