Puttshack is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join the Finance team in our downtown Home Office location. In this role, you will be a key member of the team, responsible for key accounting functions and for managing accounting responsibilities for home office and oversee closing out all US subsidiaries.
This role will provide crucial reporting to key members. Responsibilities also include performing account reconciliations and involvement of monthly close processes.

Location : Home Office, Chicago (Hybrid)
What you'll do :
- Prepare and analyze intercompany transactions.
- Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Close out group accounts and ensure all US subsidiaries reconcile.
- Collaborate with HQ department heads ensure projects and budgets are being met. Flag issues and modifications to projects that may arise.
- Provide reporting to key departments such as, weekly / monthly spend, variances of actuals vs budgets, and updating forecasts.
- Proactively seek out tools and resources to support scalability of Puttshack.
- Maintain and analyze balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform daily and weekly accounting tasks for timely monthly and year end close.
- Provide overall support on accounting projects as needed.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Who you are :
- Excellent problem-solving skills, comfortable working in excel with a high level of attention to detail
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, identify solutions and see projects through to completion
- Great computer skills, advanced in excel

Key Skills / Competencies :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, required
- At least five years of related experience required
- CPA or CPA Candidate preferred
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Hospitality industry background and project accounting experience is a plus
