Summary
As a Covetrus Report Engineer you will be responsible for building and maintaining the company's external and internal operational reports.
The role requires strong collaboration with development teams, business teams, and key stakeholders to analyze requirements and build scalable reporting products.
Working in an agile environment, this position collaboratively partners across administrative and functional areas of the company.
This position works side-by-side with other Report Engineers, Data Architects, and Data Engineers utilizing expert, hands-on report development skills.
Responsibilities :
- Analyze and understand business data requirements in order to create accurate and extensible reporting
- Actively designs, implements and supports the development of reports using proven methodologies for analyzing and presenting data
- Test and document reporting solutions
- Help develop, champion and adhere to reporting data standards
- Proactively identifies and analyzes data discrepancies and data quality issues and presents solutions to resolve issues to ensure report consistency and integrity
- Monitors report generation jobs and helps to resolve issues
- Thrives in a fast-moving environment, working on a variety of projects and technologies in an iterative, team-based culture
- Strong desire to learn new skills and adapt to new technologies while maintaining attention to detail
Qualifications :
- 3+ years’ experience building reports from data warehouse and operational database sources
- 3+ years’ experience with reporting, analytics or dashboard tools (Crystal Reports preferred, Tableau, Power BI, SAP Business Objects, JReport, JasperReports)
- Strong proficiency with SQL
- Strong understanding of relational database structures
- Experience with programming or scripting (Python, PowerShell, Java)
- Experience with cloud-based database warehouse (Snowflake, Redshift)
- Experience with public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) a plus
- Experience with dbt Core a plus
