About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Emergency Room - Oncology Pod Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Night 3x12-Hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum of 2 years of Oncology experience preferred.
Experience in Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit required. License : Must have a valid compact or state license at the time of submission.
Certifications : - BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Must-Have : Proficient in IV starts- Experience with telemetry monitoring- Willingness to undergo fingerprinting process promptly- Compliance with the requirement for flu vaccination or possess a medical exemption Job Description : Provide high-quality nursing care to oncology patients in the emergency department.
- Manage a patient ratio of 1 : 4, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including starting IV lines.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and monitor telemetry.- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.- Adhere to all hospital protocols, especially related to infection control and patient safety.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.- Participate in orientation sessions totaling 24 hours.
- Submit time-off requests with application; up to 7 consecutive days off may be granted depending on the facility's discretion.
Note : This position does not require a COVID-19 vaccination but does require compliance with the flu vaccine policy unless a medical exemption is provided.
Candidate cooperation with credentialing is crucial due to potential fingerprinting delays. Compliance with travel guidelines and response to all credentialing requests is mandatory.
