Job Description

Boston College University Libraries seeks an Administrative assistan t to provide high-quality administrative and budgetary support and events coordination for John J.

Burns Library, the Libraries repository for rare book and manuscripts and the Universitys archives.

Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Resources and Burns Librarian, the administrative assistant provides critical support for the Burns Librarian and Burns Library staff to promote the Librarys engagement with Boston College students and faculty, alumni and donors, local community members, as well as researchers and visitors from around the world.

The administrative assistant supports and helps to coordinate a lively schedule of events and programs. The administrative assistant also drafts correspondence, newsletters, and other communications, maintains files, orders supplies, tracks budgets and expenses, and provides other types of general administrative support.

This is a full-time onsite position with a regular weekday schedule and occasional scheduling adjustments to provide onsite support evening and weekend events.

Hiring Range : $24.92 / hr to $31.15 / hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

Required qualifications : High school degree required. Bachelors degree preferred. At least one year of experience in an office setting, with multiple duties and responsibilities.

High level of competency with Google and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with budget and personnel systems preferred.

Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner.

Ability to maintain stringent security policies and confidential information.
