NFI Massachusetts, Inc. is seeking a parent partner to support our DYS Community-Based Team. The parent partner can offer the parent an opportunity to provide perspective and voice during the course of treatment.
The parent partner will serve to further increase and maintain engagement with DYS youth and their families as an individual with lived experience who can provide unique support, guidance and mentorship.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Meet with families of newly committed youth to promote an early understanding of the process and assist families in understanding they are not alone
- Provide emotional support, guidance with obtaining services.
- Assist families in ensuring their voices are heard throughout their child’s commitment. Attend treatment meetings with youth and families
- Communicate and collaborate with casework teams in ongoing skill building related to effectively engaging families, providing feedback regarding their own observations and act as a support in building the relationship between the DYS caseworker and the family.
- Identify and facilitate referrals for parents. Develop relationships with other family serving agencies to further expand the network of community connections families can access during and following their child’s treatment in DYS.
- Partner with program clinicians to support a parent group and family advisory board.
Hourly : $20 per hour
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- It is preferred that parent partners have a child or relative that has been involved with a state agency or juvenile justice system.
- Education- High School diploma or equivalency
- Valid Driver's License.
- A reliable vehicle for travel in the Northeast area
- Full time, part time and per diem will be considered
