Primary Purpose :

The Business Processing Specialist Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the Business Processing Unit ( BPU ), ensuring efficient business processing workflows and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role demands an expert understanding of the institution's partnerships, processes, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions :

  • Develop and implement business processing workflows.
  • Lead and manage the BPU team, maintaining accountability.
  • Stay updated on compliance changes and ensure firm-wide communication.
  • Identify and recommend new methods of business processing to improve efficiency and enhance operations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including internal teams and external partners.
  • Oversee the preparation and processing of business documents.
  • Ensure the completion and compliance of processed items.
  • Lead weekly BPU meetings to share industry best practices and process histories.
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned within functional / knowledge area.

People Management Responsibilities and Essential Functions :

  • Hire, coach, mentor, and develop employees, including recruitment, job description development and new hire onboarding, training, and career development.
  • Oversee the development and execution of employee’s performance that supports professional growth and achievement of individual and business objectives.

Provide effective feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, when necessary.

Develop and execute the strategic department business plan, ensuring alignment with organization objectives which supports sustained growth.

Execute against the department budget, manage compensation review, and ensure fiscal stewardship.

Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, time off, telecommuting, time and attendance, and if applicable, overtime scheduling.

Job Specifications :

  • At least 5+ years of related experience, required.
  • Extensive knowledge of office procedures and standard office equipment.
  • Experience within financial services or related industry, preferred.
  • Experience with Tamarac CRM, Netx360, DST Vision, and other broker dealer tools, preferred.
  • Superior attention to detail, organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent command over Microsoft 365 Tools and other relevant software.
  • Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead under pressure on multiple priorities and projects simultaneously with high visibility in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization. Personable, approachable with a positive attitude in providing service excellence.
  • Ability to work independently with effective problem solving, conflict resolution, risk mitigation, time, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, make solid judgements and act with integrity, professionalism and empathy.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
