We are seeking a Machinist at any level of experience, from entry-level to experienced in our Burbank and South El Monte location.Summary
The Machinist is responsible for Setup and Operation of all repeat and new unproven jobs for the CNC lathe and CNC vertical machining centers.
A Machinist must have a complete understanding of Shop Math and Geometric Dimension / Tolerance requirements. A thorough understanding of CNC G-Codes and M-Codes as they relate to CNC machine operation.
The Machinist will be able to modify a program, set-up and operate any CNC Mill or Lathe in the department and provide instruction and guidance to CNC operators.
A background in conventional machining would be beneficial.
In addition, an experienced Machinist possess the skill to Setup and Operate any and all equipment in the facility. The Machinist works with no immediate supervision and can produce timely results for any given manufacturing task.
A highly skilled individual in the area of rework and the ability to perform this duty flawlessly. Ability to prototype from sketch or blueprint using any and all equipment available.
Advanced levels of CAD / CAM capabilities with multiple systems, Mastercam and SolidWorks preferred. The Machinist can also interpret all blueprints.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Understand and demonstrate Lean Principles; work to create an environment of continuous improvement and efficient productivity.
- Send and receive programs to and from database.
- Able to mount, indicate, and zero any applicable fixtures.
- Complete recognition of all tools listed on tooling setup sheets.
- Ability to bore or mill jaws, turn collets etc. as required.
- Comprehensive understanding of the entire CNC control panel.
- Knowledge of proper Speeds and Feeds.
- Ability to recognize clearance and interference issues during setup.
- Knowledge of CNC Mill and Lathe best practices.
- Cause and effects of surface finish.
- General knowledge of adjusting programs and making offsets.
- Responsible for saving any changes made to existing programs.
- Must have a complete understanding of Safe Machine operation best practices.
- Assists in Research and Development (R&D) experiments as needed.
In addition, an experienced Machinist Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manufacture, Design / Redesign, Re-sharpen, improve any and all Lathe / Mill cutting tools.
- Setup, Operate, Hand off any Lathe / Mill part.
- Full knowledge of all Multi-Axis equipment.
- Ability to program 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.
- Design and manufacture complex fixtures for Lathe and Mill.
- Can make custom tools.
- Experienced in the machining of all common materials.
- Willing to share knowledge and techniques with other employees.
- Continuous acquiring of leading-edge manufacturing techniques and applications.
- Knowledge of current manufacturing and machining processes.
- Trouble Shooting Abilities
- Must have a complete understanding of Safe Machine operation best practices.
- Assists in Research and Development (R&D) experiments as needed.

Experience and Education :
Years of Experience : 1+ years of experience
Type of Experience : High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.). One plus years of related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combinations of education and experience
