The Role
Reporting to the President for Worley Consulting based in London, and working closely with Worley Consulting Leadership, Group Finance, and global Sales and Marketing teams, you will play a key role in driving the commercial success of Worley Consulting.
You will achieve this by developing and implementing commercial strategies that align with our business objectives and maximize value across our chosen customer groups and markets including :
- Energy, Chemicals & Resources
- Environment & Water
- Transport, Infrastructure & Logistics
- Mining Minerals and Metals Technology & Expert Solutions
- Digital solutions
Responsibilities will include :
Commercial Strategy :
- Develop and implement a robust commercial strategy to drive business growth and market share at a global scale
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and challenges.
- Drive Worley consulting branding and positioning in the market together with the marketing team
- Define and develop pricing strategies and commercial models, working closely with business development and account management teams
- Provide leadership and direction to the commercial team and reginal leaderships, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and evolution of the commercial models.
Client Relationship Management :
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Understand client needs and objectives to tailor commercial solutions that meet their requirements.
- Act as a primary point of contact for commercial discussions and negotiations with clients.
Business Development :
- Working closely with Sales and clients to develop and implement strategic account management
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the development of strategic proposals and bids.
- Collaborate with business development team to develop pricing strategies and commercial models.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and industry events to promote our services and capabilities.
Risk Management :
- Assess and manage commercial risks associated with projects, contracts, and business operations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments that may impact our business.
Contract Management :
- Negotiate, review, and finalize major global contracts with customers and partners
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, including deliverables, milestones, and payment schedules.
- Manage contract variations and amendments as necessary.
- Mitigate commercial risks and liabilities through proactive contract management practices.
Financial Management :
- Identify opportunities to optimize project margins and minimize costs.
- Work closely with finance department to ensure accurate invoicing and timely payment collection.
Team Leadership :
Provide leadership and guidance to the commercial team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About You
- Proven track record of success in a commercial role within a consulting environment with an emphasis on energy transition with contract values in excess of USD20M
- Strong understanding of engineering consulting services, market trends, and industry dynamics
- Sound knowledge of our sectors and markets across multiple regions
- Proven ability to attract talent and influence global teams virtually
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in alternate commercial contracting models
- Strong communication and networking skills with ability to drive collaboration across a matrix organisation
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and drive business results
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
