NAVFAC Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC) is seeking an innovative and results-driven Technology Insertion Lead located in Port Hueneme, CA.
This position will lead the planning and execution of field experimentations and technology demonstrations to advance marine energy technology.
Candidates will work with a team of military, government, and contractor subject matter experts to identify, test and demonstrate advanced concepts & technologies.
Responsibilities :
- Interface with stakeholders concerning problem definition, requirements development, and strategies to facilitate technology demonstrations and exercise experimentations
- Develop and present professional briefings, trip reports, white papers, and other informational documents designed to inform senior decision-makers
- Lead the planning and execution of field experimentations and technology demonstrations to advance marine energy technology
- Conduct preliminary planning, site surveys, and concept development through exercise execution, including participation in planning conferences and technical working groups
- Facilitate performance testing, correlate and analyze test data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for improvement
- Conduct demonstration testing with potential end-users
- Transition technology from developmental to commercial
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
- Effectively develop and track projects and field efforts from planning through execution, with consideration for budget, schedule, and performance benchmarks
- Develop and oversee contracted efforts in support of field testing and / or technology demonstrations
- Maintain awareness of military requirements and emerging technologies in the domain of marine energy development and undersea and expeditionary warfare
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
- Research and development experience on one or more of the following areas : undersea command, control, and communications;
weapon systems; sensing systems; and unmanned systems
- Experience with operational requirement identification, fostering innovation and managing system technology integration.
- Experience with applying principles of model based systems engineering, and developing Interface Control Documents (ICD)
Position Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- At least 3 years of work experience
