Title : Laboratory Assistant
Location : Carlsbad, CA (Onsite)
The Laboratory technician is responsible for receiving incoming materials, organization of raw materials, maintaining laboratory logs, washing beakers and assisting in everyday laboratory duties.
This position will report to the Director of Product Development and will work in conjunction with the R&D laboratory team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Receive incoming materials for the laboratory
- Organize raw materials
- Maintain laboratory logs
- Wash beakers and keep work areas clean and safe
- Assist and support products to expand the R&D formulation library
- Work on multiple projects at the same time
- Record work and generate reports as requested
- Follow safety protocols when handling materials and discarding waste
- Order supplies and inventoried materials on as needed basis
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr Director of Product Development
Preferred Knowledge and Skills :
- AA degree in Chemistry or related field preferred, or equivalent education and directly related years of experience.
- 1 or more years of experience in Research and Development laboratory
- Science knowledge of basic chemistry lab techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong computer skills including familiarity with relevant software including Excel and Word are required
