We are hiring immediately for a Sr. IT Security Administrator to join our team in Westminster, CO.
The Sr. IT Security Administrator will join a well-rounded, creative, and inspired IT Security Team committed to securing the operational capabilities of our enterprise by deploying robust security measures and implementing standards and controls that span both the commercial and US Government businesses.

Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring security tools, implementing Zero Trust principles, evaluating critical risks, and assisting in the development and implementation of remediation plans.
In this role, your focus will be on tools that help maintain and monitor implementation of best practices as they relate to NIST / CMMC compliance and you will be a critical resource ensuring the security and integrity of Maxar’s amazing mission.
What You’ll Be Doing :
- Work collaboratively with IT teams to evaluate compliance with NIST 800-171 / CMMC controls including : Interpretation of control implementation and documentation, analyzing risk and maturity assessments of current Cybersecurity controls, risk and gap remediation planning and System Security Plan execution
- Perform risk assessments for vulnerabilities that are identified and assist in the implementation of treatment options based on program, product, or contractual requirements
- Implement Zero Trust security principles to secure all systems and endpoints
- Assist Cyber Security with providing accurate client security questionnaires and evaluating compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements
- Provide proactive updates to Cybersecurity for maintenance of Cybersecurity documents (policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures)
- Contribute to fostering and promoting a Security Focused culture within IT
Minimum Requirements :
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Active or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Clearance
- Requires a minimum of 5+ years of progressive Cybersecurity and Compliance experience
- Requires a minimum of 5 years recent experience working directly with Cybersecurity, regulatory governance, and IT security practices.
- Knowledge of networks, operating systems, applications, and cloud services.
- Experience documenting and maintaining Cybersecurity guidelines, policies, and standards
- Awareness and experience readying for CMMC
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively present material to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualification :
- Bachelor’s degree (Information Technology / Security, Computer Science / Engineering preferred); Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
- Experience working for a U.S. government prime contractor or subcontractor
- Strong ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges
- Experience analyzing business or technical problems and proposing and implementing solutions
- Demonstrated experience working with networks, operating systems, applications, and cloud services.
- Experience with effective policy, instruction, and procedure taxonomy and development for Federal or DoD Information Security Programs
- Familiarity with security frameworks and various compliance requirements; including : ISO27001, SOC2, NIST, CMMC. Knowledge of OWASP / SAMM
- Experience with third-party risk and M&A Cybersecurity assessments
- Certification related to Cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM)
- Active Secret / TS clearance

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience.
The range for this position is :
$104,000.00 - $174,000.00 annually.Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and / or individual results achieved;
the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
