Job Description
Provides functional leadership through a matrixed organization to BHE Pipeline Group programs and resources, for physical security and associated information security.
Serves as the primary liaison on security matters between the Chief Security Office and the BHE Pipeline Group.
Responsibilities
Provides guidance and counsel on security matters to the Chief Security Office leadership team; and the BHE Pipeline Group President and key members of the company's leadership team.
Reviews established plans, and enhances established security objectives that support overall company strategic goals. Participates regularly on senior management teams and cross-business collaborative engagements.
Establishes and maintains external relationships with government agencies, community groups, and / or other prominent stakeholders.
Selects, coaches, leads, and develops employees. Implements and supports company programs and policies. Collaborates with local stakeholders to help manage and allocate financial and employee resources.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.
Preferred Degree Business, Homeland Security, or Law Enforcement. At least 10 years' experience in a combination of security, information protection, and incident response.
At least 5 years' experience with gas utility operations. At least 8 years' experience with direct people management. Proven knowledge of security concepts and best practices, codes, and regulations.
Leadership and teamwork skills, to negotiate with and influence peers and management on policy and strategic issues. Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage and motivate employees.
Ability to use oral and written communication to create a vision, communicate strategy, and interact effectively with other company leaders.
Ability to qualify for and maintain a company-sponsored clearance at a minimum of Secret level. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without an accommodation.
