As the Engineer II with the Cloud Data Integration team, you will provide engineering and operations for existing and future integration, application and API management platforms.
You will work closely with the Best Buy application teams that leverage these platforms in both the data centers and public clouds.
This position will serve on a broader team of technology professionals, cooperatively designing and enhancing systems, developing standards, and creating robust technology solutions that deliver real business value to Best Buy.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location.
The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
For this role, you must be located within a drivable distance to our office in Richfield, Minnesota.
What you’ll do
- Build integration and cloud solutions from scratch using leading open-source technologies
- Manage and maintain existing use cases leveraging integration platforms
- Participate in the design of solutions leveraging integration platforms (Nifi, Qlik & AppTalk)
- Provide consulting for app teams that require guidance on integration services and consumption
- Define, provision and document proper security controls for integration platforms
- Provide operational support for use cases leveraging integration services in Best Buy private and public clouds
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and architecture specifications
- Manage CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins and Gradle to automate build, test, and deployment processes
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust applications using Java and the Spring framework
Basic qualifications
- 2 or more years of experience in technology, software or product development, technical architecture or engineering
- 3 or more years of development experience in building components using Java and Spring
- 2 or more years of experience with agile processes such as sprint planning and grooming, DevOps concepts
- 2 or more years of experience with backend database components (stored procedures, table views, data structures)
- 2 or more years of experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Kafka producers / consumers, database, and integration patterns
- 1 or more years of experience with version control and build automation using Git, Gradle / Maven and Jenkins pipelines
- 1 or more years of experience with Apache NiFi
- 1 or more years of experience with GCP
Preferred qualifications
- 3 or more years of experience in technology, software or product development, technical architecture or engineering
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 1 or more years of experience with Kubernetes, building, managing, scaling and monitoring GKE clusters
- Experience with Qlik enterprise manager and Qlik replicate
- Event streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka, Confluent Kafka
- Monitoring tools such as Kibana, Grafana, Splunk and Dynatrace
