The Business Control Unit Institutional Securities Documentation team at Morgan Stanley is currently looking for a derivatives documentation negotiator with a focus on institutional clients of the Fixed Income.

The role involves collaborating with various areas of the Firm, interacting with external clients, and negotiating different types of derivatives documentation.

Responsibilities :

  • Identifying necessary documentation for the clients to trade OTC derivatives and perform related due diligence scans;
  • Drafting and negotiating legal documentation (included master agreements, amendments and ancillary documents such as ISDA, DF related documents, CDEA, ACAs, MRA, GMSLA, MSFTA etc);
  • Handling client negotiations and any related projects to ensure timely execution and completion;
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders in Credit, Risk Management, Legal and Sales regarding documentation terms;
  • Understanding and adhering to established procedures;
  • Communicating with clients and external counsel;

Qualifications

  • 2+ years law firm or financial industry experience in contract negotiation required. Preferably employed by or seconded to a bank in a documentation / business support roles
  • Demonstrable experience in having negotiated ISDA legal documents
  • Experience negotiating other master agreements is preferred

Technical and Professional Qualifications and Accreditations :

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Law Degree (preferred)
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is a plus

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year for Associate, and $145,000 and $250,000 for Vice President, at the commencement of employment.

However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
