Supervise staff and test swimmers for advancement within Parkway-Rockwood Swim School guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Communicate with instructors and Aquatics Program Specialist to ensure adequate staffing for all classes.
- Test swimmers for advancement in program.
- Liaison to parents regarding Parkway-Rockwood Swim School.
- Oversee and evaluate instructor performance and placement.
- Monitor lessons to ensure that Parkway-Rockwood Swim School guidelines for class structure are followed.
- Inform Aquatics Program Specialist of pool maintenance or safety issues related to the facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Program Specialist and / or Community Ed Supervisor (Aquatics).
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Superior verbal communication skills.
- Comfortably interact with all ages of children and their parents.
- Possesses adequate knowledge of the Parkway-Rockwood Swim School program and competitive swimming techniques.
Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends
Ability to work in a variety of locations, including within or outside the Parkway and Rockwood School district boundaries
BASIC REQUIREMENTS :
- Must have competitive swimming experience; knowledge of swimming techniques and teaching methods preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain required.
- Previous experience working in a swim program preferred.
- Previous supervision experience preferred.
EQUIPMENT USED :
Standard office equipment and pool equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
At Parkway-Rockwood Swim School locations within or outside the Parkway and Rockwood School district boundaries
Pay : Salary range starts at $17 / hr based on experience
