Summary :
The RN Inbound Coordinator directs the campus destination of patients arriving to the Emergency Department (ED) via ambulance, nursing facilities, and physician office practices / Urgent Care clinics.
The goal is to ensure patients are directed to the appropriate campus based on services needed, acuity levels, volumes and wait times.
Responsibilities :
1. Manages inbound calls from local private ambulance services and fire department ambulance services when transporting priority patients to the ED.
2. Monitors calls via a CMED radio for priority patients.
3. Utilizes designated systems to direct incoming traffic.
4. Directs the incoming ambulances, SNF and physician referrals to the appropriate campus with the best ability to promptly evaluate and provide services to the patient.
5. Assists with the scheduling, managing, and transporting of patients being discharged or transferred from the hospital campus.
6. Assists with the scheduling of A-10, BH-1, and MIH services.
7. Exceeds expectations for experience of callers in all communication methods (verbal or written).
8. Participates in performance improvement projects.
9. Communicates and coordinates effectively with other disciplines such as Communications Specialists, Charge Nurses, and ED Providers.

Qualifications :
Current RN licensure in the state of MA in good standing required
BSN is strongly preferred
Associate’s degree in nursing may be considered. Must enroll in BSN within year
BLS required
1-2 years of Critical Care Experience
3 Years of Emergency Department RN Experience.
