About the Role :

The Sift Sales Engineering team comprises creative, technical problem-solvers who partner with prospects to understand their Digital Trust & Safety challenges.

Our team is distributed across the United States, Singapore, and Dublin, Ireland. We are the bridge between technology and business impact we architect solutions, run evaluations, and onboard customers to the Sift platform while driving tangible value to online businesses for major industries across the globe.

Internally, we pave the way for future customers by working closely with Marketing, Product & Engineering to stay ahead of the market, identify emerging digital fraud trends, and assist in prioritizing and developing of product functionality.

As the Director of Sales Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in driving our sales success by leading and managing a high-performing team of Sales Engineers.

Your primary focus will be to provide technical expertise and support to our sales organization, ensuring the seamless integration of our solutions into our client's businesses.

You will collaborate closely with our sales, product, and engineering teams to understand customer requirements, architect solutions, and deliver compelling demonstrations to drive revenue growth.

What you’ll do :

  • Lead and manage a team of 10 Sales Engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance coaching.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the sales engineering function, optimizing processes, tools, and resources to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the sales leadership team to develop and execute effective sales strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the sales team, providing technical expertise, product knowledge, and solution guidance throughout the sales cycle.
  • Understand customer needs and objectives, and design tailored solutions to address their unique challenges and requirements.
  • Conduct technical presentations, demonstrations, and proofs-of-concept to prospects and customers, showcasing the value and capabilities of our solutions.
  • Collaborate with the product management and engineering teams to provide feedback on product enhancements, identify market trends, and contribute to product roadmap development.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams, to drive customer satisfaction and sales success.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  • Provide the executive team with regular reporting and analysis on sales engineering activities, metrics, and performance.

What will make you a strong fit :

  • 5+ years of managing, building, and scaling Sales Engineering teams across different segments, ideally including experience managing across different geographies
  • 7+ years in a B2B, API-based, SaaS technical Sales Engineering role
  • Proven track record of mentoring others both interpersonally and via growth and development initiatives
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a passion for solving problems with scalable processes
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, or similar languages, and UNIX-based operating systems
  • Able to travel up to 25% (in a post-COVID world, whenever that may be)
  • Nice to haves :
  • Exposure to payments or fraud prevention
  • Experience and familiarity with AI / ML platforms and technologies

The anticipated starting on-target earnings range for this role can be found below. This role may also be eligible for equity and other benefits.

Sift takes into account many factors in determining compensation, including level, location, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.

Therefore, the pay range / final offer may change or be modified in the future.
