Receives guidance primarily on unique, unusual, or controversial problems or questions. May lead a work group or project team consisting of one or more support staff and / or tech / professional staff with some coaching from own supervisor, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialty.

Seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts with existing relationships.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following :

  • Leads the design, development and implementation of cross-functional SCM processes and applications across a single or multiple sites to support global SCM strategies.
  • Works with internal and external customer and supplier teams to deliver collaborative solutions.
  • Advises senior management of process issues, opportunities and recommends action plans. Provides technical guidance and mentors department business analysts.

Assesses educational needs and skills at a site level to identify key areas that require education programs.

  • Recommends process improvements and assists in change-management initiatives to ensure common and optimal process across the sites.
  • Leads in the development and utilization of tools for automation of data visualization & monitoring process to ensure compliance (Birst, Power BI, Excel)
  • Initiates, develops and leads projects to analyze and recommend plans to achieve inventory targets.
  • Provides analysis to sites as input to site material and capacity planning.
  • Provides direction / guidance to site SCM Operations teams on forecast loads & Master Production Schedule.
  • Utilizes advanced planning tools to support planning, inventory mgmt. & SIOP activities.

Knowledge / Skills / Competencies

  • Broad knowledge of global supply chain, manufacturing business, material planning, order entry, MRP, logistics and financial measurements.
  • Excellent facilitation, communications and presentation skills.
  • Strong cross-functional project and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex process / system problems using financial, analytical and statistical models.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Good knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, the product build process, the types of materials being purchased by the department and the engineering change process.
  • Good knowledge of inventory management, production planning, scheduling, material requirements planning and manufacturing control systems.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in relevant business applications.
  • Good analytical and statistical skills.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Extensive prolonged overnight travel may be required (25% travel).

Typical Experience

Three to five years of relevant experience in the manufacturing industry.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Business, Engineering, IT or Materials), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Educational requirements may vary by geography

Location : This is a remote position, with travel as necessary. We are open to considering candidates close to any of our US locations in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Texas, Arizona, Oregon or California as well as locations near major airports such as the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Pacific Coast.
