Position Overview :
The Vice President of Credit will lead and oversee all aspects of credit risk management, focusing on real estate lending.
This role involves managing underwriting, structuring, and asset management of commercial and residential real estate loans.
The VP will ensure compliance with industry regulations while maintaining the overall quality of the lending portfolio.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the credit risk management function, ensuring adherence to the company’s lending policies and risk appetite.
- Oversee the underwriting and structuring of complex commercial and residential real estate loans.
- Analyze borrower financials, market conditions, and asset performance to assess risk and make credit recommendations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute credit strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
- Manage and mentor a team of credit analysts and underwriters, fostering a culture of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Continuously monitor the loan portfolio to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain relationships with borrowers, brokers, and other stakeholders to support business objectives.
Requirements :
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in credit risk management and asset management within the commercial and residential real estate lending, mortgage, or banking.
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate loans, underwriting, and credit structuring.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience working in high-growth environments or lending institutions with a focus on non-owner-occupied properties.
