The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the administrative functions related to the credentialing and privileging process for physicians and allied health professionals.
The Medical Staff Coordinator provides administrative support to Medical Staff leaders and Medical Staff Committees. The Coordinator has knowledge of current recommendations from the Joint Commission, Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners, and other state requirements as well as hospital and medical staff by laws.
Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills required.
Education :
High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Associate degree preferred.
Experience
Must have two years of executive secretarial experience .
One of Two years' experience in a medical staff office preferred.
Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations.
Previous credentialing and management experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Critical thinking, service excellence and strong communications skills, ability to rea / comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
Bilingual - English / Spanish
License / Certification :
Certification as a NAMSS Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist and / or Certified Medical Staff Coordinator preferred
