Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
We have an opening for Transportation Project Engineer working out of our Buffalo, Rochester or Syracuse office.
What you'll be able to do :
- Feasibility studies, design calculations, specifications, 3D modeling, plan development, construction cost estimates, and support of work / environmental permitting applications
- Participate in field condition inspections, safety assessments, and produce appropriate technical reports of findings
- Provide construction administration support for Requests for Information (RFI’s) and submittals. Special inspection field visits when required
- Represent Prudent Engineering at project meetings, as needed
The minimum requirements we seek :
- BS Civil Engineering preferred (AAS Civil Tech minimum) with 5+ years’ experience
- EIT preferred
- Experience with Civil / Site and ancillary design (e.g., closed drainage, water service, sanitary sewer, stormwater management practices, etc.)
- Proficient with : Autodesk Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Excel / Word
- Bentley MicroStation V8i or Connect Edition a plus
- Additional experience with any of the following would be a plus : hydraulics (HEC-RAS), GIS, bank stabilization, emergency action plans, fish passage, and water control structure operations
- Ability to work primarily independent on project assignments, with support from more experienced engineers
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
